PRESS RELEASE: ACP concerned about graduation, differentiation in EU aid policy

Rarotonga COOK ISLANDS, 30 August 2012/ ACP: The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States has voiced concerns over the inclusion of a differentiated approach towards aid in the European Commission’s Agenda for Change.
 

The proposed policy seeks to deliver EU development assistance more efficiently by focussing on key priority areas and targeting resources towards Least Developed Countries, while cutting national allocations to High Income and Upper Middle Income Countries.
 

PRESS RELEASE: ACP chief welcomes Pacific leaders’ commitment to conclude trade talks with EU

Rarotonga COOK ISLANDS, 30 August 2012/ ACP: The Secretary General of the Brussels-based Secretariat for the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP), Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas applauded Pacific Island leaders in their commitment to conclude trade talks with the European Union (EU) as a full group.  
 

Dr Chambas said the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) negotiations, ongoing with the Pacific since 2004, were one of the “principal concerns” facing ACP-EU relations.
 

New Ambassadors throw weight behind ACP aspirations

Brussels, 1 August 2012/ ACP: The Committee of Ambassadors of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States welcomed three new members who recently began their tenures as official envoys to the European Union (EU) and Benelux states.

Regional ACP-EU parliamentary meeting concluded successfully in Samoa

Brussels, 23 July 2012/ ACP: Members of Parliament from the Pacific region and visiting counterparts from the European Parliament wrapped up three days of deliberations in Apia, Samoa last week, concluding the 8th Regional Joint Parliamentary Assembly between the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union (EU).
