Brussels, 3 October 2012/ ACP: The Prime Minister of Togo, H.E Kwesi Séléagodji Ahoomey-Sunu concluded a 1-day trip to Brussels on Tuesday with a visit to ACP Secretary General H.E Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas.

The meeting was the first between the two since the Prime Minister’s official appointment in July 2012. During discussions, the Secretary General congratulated the Prime Minister on his new role, and as well as the strong participation from the West African state in ACP events and activities.

“The Republic of Togo is a founding member of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States. We stand in solidarity with the nation as it continues to construct democracy based on political dialogue and discussions with the people. The ultimate aim is to have a united, peaceful and prosperous Togo,” said the Secretary General.

Last year Togo hosted the 22^nd session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. The Ambassador of Togo to Belgium and the European Union, H.E Félix Kodjo Sagbo is currently the Dean of the ACP Committee of Ambassadors – one of the highest decision-making bodies of the ACP Group.
