Grade P4 - Expert in charge of Private Sector Issues

Grade P3 - Translator : From English to French

Job description and required profile of the candidates:

Expert in charge of Private Sector Issues

MAIN DUTIES

Under the authority of the Assistant Secretary-General (Sustainable Economic Development), the Expert in charge of private sector issues shall be required to:

1. Deal with and analyse issues relating to the promotion and development of the private sector in ACP countries;

2. Follow up the implementation of the ACP-EC Partnership Agreement in his area of competence, including strategies, instruments, investment, dialogue and prepare relevant documents, reports and notes;

3. Assist the relevant Subcommittees and Working Groups of the ACP Committee of Ambassadors and take appropriate follow-up action;

4. Follow up the activities of the relevant international and regional organisations;

5. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS

1. University degree or equivalent in Economics, Trade, Finance, Law, Management and/or in related areas;

2. At least five years of relevant work experience;

3. Good command of English or French. A working knowledge of the other language would be an added advantage;

4. Computer literate.

Conditions of service and employment for the post.

In conformity with Article 12 of the Staff Regulations, staff of the Professional and General Services categories are appointed by the Secretary-General on the recommendation of the Recruitment Advisory Committee chaired by the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Department of Administration, Finance and Human Resources.

The salary attached to the post, is within the following range:

Grade P4

Net monthly salary: from 3.995,00€ (1st step)
to 5.114,00€ (15th step)

Monthly Housing allowance:

- P4 = 1.446,00€

In addition, there are other advantages, such as: Secretariat contribution to a pension scheme, health insurance, tuition fees for dependent children, etc.

In the framework of their functions, members of staff are governed by the Staff Regulations of the Secretariat (ACP/41/017/03 Rev.6) and by any other decision that may be adopted by the competent ACP authorities regarding employment.

Translator : From English to French

JOB DESCRIPTION :

MAIN DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Reviser the Translator shall:

(i) Translate all documents relevant to the work of the ACP Group from English into French, taking care to preserve the spirit and shades of meaning of the original text. The translator will follow the recognised phraseology and terminology which will be ascertained, if necessary, from the appropriate dictionaries, reference documents and terminology indexes;
(ii) Carry out any other related duties as might be assigned.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS

 

1. A degree in translation.
2. Three years minimum professional experience.
3. Computer literate.

NB. Candidates will be required to sit a practical test arranged by the Secretariat and thereafter attend an interview.

In conformity with Article 12 of the Staff Regulations, staff of the Professional and General Services categories are appointed by the Secretary-General on the recommendation of the Recruitment Advisory Committee chaired by the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Department of Administration, Finance and Human Resources.

Net monthly salary: from 3.632,00€ (1st step)
to 4.649,00€ (15th step)

Monthly Housing allowance:

- P3 = 1.172,00€
