Contract description At their first Summit held in Libreville, Gabon, on 6 and 7 November 1997, the ACP Heads of State and Government agreed to meet periodically to review the main developments on the international scene in general, and in the ACP States in particular, and to take stock of the cooperation between the European Union and the ACP Group so as to define the main orientations of the Group’s general policy. Since the last Summit held in Khartoum, Sudan, on 7 and 8 December 2006, various developments shed a great deal of uncertainty over the ACP-EU cooperation and the future of the ACP Group as a whole. ACP Heads of State and Government need to review these developments with a view to giving their various implementing bodies the necessary policy framework and political impetus to address those challenges in the interest of ensuring the sustainable economic, social and political development of the ACP countries. 8.
