11th meeting of ACP Ministerial Trade Committee

The ACP Ministerial Trade Committee will hold its 11 th meeting in Brussels on 26 and 27 June 2006, mainly to prepare for the meeting of the joint ACP-EC Ministerial Trade Committee (JMTC) scheduled for 28 June.

During the meeting, the Committee will take stock of the negotiations of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) at the regional and “all-ACP” levels, including rules of origin; dispute settlement; the non-execution clause; and trade-related issues.

It will also review progress in the post-Hong Kong WTO negotiations and other issues relating to the ACP-EU trading arrangements currently in effect under the Cotonou Agreement. The Ministers will refer to the recommendations put forward at the joint meeting of the ACP Geneva- and Brussels-based Ambassadors so as to fine-tune their position in preparation for the JMTC.
