ACP private sector priorities presented to Pacific business sector

Port Vila, 15 July 2014/ ACP: Priorities and directives that will guide future actions of the ACP Group on private sector development were presented to Pacific CEO’s at the 2nd EU-Pacific Business Forum, held last month in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
 

Intensified focus on ACP private sector at EIB annual visit

Luxembourg, 11 July 2014/ ACP: ACP countries reaffirmed the role of the private sector as the engine of growth at the annual gathering of African, Caribbean and Pacific Ambassadors hosted by the European Investment Bank, where special focus was given to microfinance and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in ACP countries.

Brussels, 27 June 2014/ ACP: The Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni learned with dismay about the bombing perpetrated at a supermarket in Abuja, the capital of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Wednesday 25 June 2014.

ACP mourns passing of Fijian Ambassador

Brussels, 27 June 2014/ ACP: The ACP diplomatic corps in Brussels are mourning the tragic loss of one of its key members. The Ambassador of Fiji to the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium, H.E Peceli Vocea was serving his second term in office since 2009, when he passed away yesterday at the age of 46.

EU-Africa partnership on cotton celebrates 10th anniversary

Brussels, 26 June 2014/ ACP: The 19th meeting of the Steering and Monitoring Committee of the EU-Africa Partnership on cotton (COS-coton) will be held on 2nd July 2014, from 9.30 am at the ACP House.

It has been 10 years since the Paris Forum which was held in July 2004, brought together African cotton producing countries and Member States of the European Union and created the EU-Africa Partnership on cotton.

Drugs under spotlight at ACP Harare talks

Harare, 25 June 2014/ TH/ ACP: About 15 African member states of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) are in Harare for a three-day conference meant to strengthen availability and affordability of pharmaceutical products in the region. Working under the banner "Renewed Partnership Project", the conference seeks to deliberate on gaps and strengths in the implementation of national medicines policies, regulations and practices, improving access and use of quality assured medicines.

ACP, EU stand together on post-2015 development agenda

Brussels, 20 June 2014/ ACP: Seventy nine member states of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group and 28 members of the European Union declared their joint support for a strong overarching global framework that seeks to achieve poverty eradication and sustainable development, while also addressing the challenges and unique vulnerabilities of ACP countries. 16 ACP countries sign National Indicative Programmes with EU

Brussels, 20 June 2014/ EC/ ACP: A total of more than €4.6 billion of EU support was committed towards national development strategies in 16 ACP countries, in the margins of the ACP-EU Joint Council of Ministers on 19-20 June in Nairobi, Kenya.
