Statement by the Secretary General at the seminar "Ebola: A Global Governance to face a Global Virus", 20 November 2014, University of Rome Tor Regata

Mr. Chairman; Distinguished Participants; Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is a pleasure to have been invited to participate in this Conference on Ebola and Global Governance, particularly at this time as the international community battles the containment of the recent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in West Africa.

Symposium lays groundwork for All-ACP private sector strategy

Brussels, 20 November 2014/ ACP PSD: The High-Level Symposium on Private Sector Development Support (PSD) in African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries, which took place on 10 and 11 November 2014 at the ACP House in Brussels, Belgium, brought together more than 150 stakeholders including ACP Missions, Embassies, regional economic communities, private sector actors, international organisations, and other development partners to review a series of recommendations and agree on an “All ACP” platform for PSD.

Brussels, 18 November 2014/ ACP: Newly appointed representatives from Eritrea, Solomon Islands and Togo made their inaugural addresses to the ACP Committee of Ambassadors, during recent meetings of the group. 


The Committee of Ambassadors of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) has been closely following the developments in the political situation in Burkina Faso.
The Committee extends its condolences to the bereaved families and expresses heartfelt compassion and solidarity with all the people of Burkina Faso.

It is a pleasure for me to welcome you all to Brussels, Belgium, and to ACP House, your House, for this High-Level Symposium on the ACP Private Sector Development Strategy; A PSD Strategy that will enable the ACP Group to facilitate the growth of a vibrant private sector and assisit it play a major role as an engine of sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction in ACP member states.

ACP, UNIDO deepen collaboration to boost inclusive, sustainable industrialisation

Brussels, 8 November 2014/ ACP: Leaders of the Secretariats of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group) met Tuesday to explore together how to promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation in ACP countries.
